Job Description:

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician who will perform critical tasks in our molding department, including changing molds and tooling, adjusting molding machines, and conducting minor machine repairs. The technician ensures high-quality production standards and supports overall operational efficiency by maintaining equipment and ensuring product compliance.

Qualifications:

Experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance preferred
Ability to handle physically demanding tasks
Forklift certification or willingness to become certified

Specific Requirements:

Standing:

Up to 8 hours per day, standing 2-3 hours continuously

Upper Extremities:

Frequent use for mold/tooling changes on presses, cleaning mold heads (overhead reach), and hand tool usage.

Lower Extremities:

Frequent use of legs, considerable walking, crawling into presses for troubleshooting and mold/tooling changes, climbing steps, and working in awkward positions; forklift operation required.

Critical Job Demands:

Heavy to very heavy physical demands
Frequent walking, standing, bending, climbing, and awkward positioning
Frequent use of upper extremities for troubleshooting and mold/tooling changes

Task Descriptions:

Purge Presses (Occasional):

Climbing into press areas (hot environment)
Cleaning tooling with wire brush (4 lbs) and bar soap
Running mold cycles for product quality

Check Press Operations:

Verifying press temperatures
Inspecting products for quality

Change Molds and Tooling:

Draining cooling water and unhooking lines
Removing bolts (some overhead, awkward positions)
Using forklifts to handle extremely heavy molds
Transferring molds/tooling to storage and installing new molds/tooling
